Warm A/C makes people think of recharging. Sometimes, sure. Other times, the system is leaking, and a recharge is just buying a short little vacation from the problem.
At Scotty’s Automotive in Sussex County, NJ, we check why the cold air left before we invite more refrigerant in.
Low Usually Means Leaking
A sealed A/C system should keep its refrigerant.
If it is low, it escaped. Could be a seal, hose, condenser, compressor area, or service port. The exact spot matters.
Adding more without fixing the escape route is very temporary behavior.
How Low Charge Feels
Low refrigerant may feel like weak, almost-cold air.
Maybe it cools better on the road than at a light. Maybe it starts okay and fades. Maybe it never gets truly cold at all.
That pattern is worth telling us when you call.

Rapid Clicking Is A Clue
A compressor that clicks on and off again and again may be reacting to pressure problems.
The system is trying to protect itself, not annoy you personally. Though it can feel personal in July.
Either way, it needs a real check.
Oil Spots Can Point To A Leak
Leaks sometimes leave oily dirt on A/C lines, fittings, or around the condenser.
A small leak may not leave much, so clean-looking parts do not prove everything is fine.
Tiny leaks are annoying like that.
Get The Cold Air Back Correctly
A proper A/C service checks pressure, leaks, fan operation, compressor behavior, and the right refrigerant amount.
If your A/C is weak or warm, call Scotty’s Automotive in Sussex County, NJ at (845) 720-3584. We will find out whether it needs a recharge, leak repair, or another fix.
